Warehouse Consolidation Storage Fees China to Europe — What You Actually Pay (2026)

Warehouse consolidation costs are not just an international freight rate. The amount you finally pay can include storage, inspection, repacking, protective materials, return handling, route surcharges and the chargeable weight of the packed carton.

For YANCHAO users, eligible goods can remain in the Huizhou warehouse for up to 180 days. That storage window is useful for combining purchases from several Chinese sellers, but it should not be treated as unlimited storage or as a promise that every optional service is free. Check the current order page before requesting work or allowing items to approach the storage limit.

What you should budget for

Start with the final packed parcel, not the seller’s product weight. Record the actual weight, carton dimensions, destination postcode, goods category and every requested warehouse service. Then use the live calculator to compare eligible routes.

How warehouse consolidation works

Consolidation means receiving several domestic parcels at one Chinese warehouse and combining selected items into a single international shipment. A typical order moves through these stages:

  1. Receive: each seller sends the order to your assigned warehouse address.
  2. Identify and inspect: the warehouse matches the parcel to your account and records the item condition within the selected inspection scope.
  3. Store: the items wait while other domestic orders arrive.
  4. Select and repack: you choose which items to combine and which packing options to request.
  5. Measure and quote: the completed carton is weighed and measured, and eligible international routes are calculated.
  6. Declare and ship: you confirm the contents, route, declaration and any available protection before payment.

How YANCHAO’s 180-day storage window should be used

YANCHAO was established in 2022 and operates a 5,000 m² warehouse in Huizhou, Guangdong. Eligible goods can be stored for up to 180 days, giving buyers time to combine orders from Taobao, 1688 and other Chinese sellers.

  • Track storage time from the recorded warehouse arrival date for each item.
  • Do not assume the newest parcel resets the storage age of earlier parcels.
  • Allow time for inspection, repacking, route selection and payment before the oldest item reaches its limit.
  • If you will not ship an item, arrange return or other permitted handling early instead of waiting until expiry.

The current account record and warehouse policy control the actual deadline. Contact support when an item is close to expiry or when its storage status is unclear.

Chargeable weight often matters more than storage fees

International routes generally compare actual weight with volumetric weight and use the larger result, subject to the selected route’s rules. YANCHAO’s standard reference formula is:

Length × Width × Height (cm) ÷ 6,000

Example: a carton measuring 60 × 40 × 30 cm has a volumetric weight of 12 kg. If the actual weight is 8 kg, a route using this formula would normally compare against 12 kg. If safe removal of unnecessary outer boxes reduces the packed dimensions, it may reduce the chargeable weight. It is not correct to promise a fixed percentage saving before the parcel has been repacked and measured.

Packing decisions that can raise or lower the total

DecisionPossible benefitTrade-off
Remove seller cartonsMay reduce volumeCan reduce original-product packaging protection or resale presentation
Vacuum-pack suitable textilesMay reduce volume for soft goodsNot suitable for every material or product
Add corner or fragile protectionMay reduce damage riskAdds material, weight and sometimes volume
Split one shipmentCan separate incompatible goods or route requirementsMay create more minimum charges and handling steps
Keep original packagingPreserves the manufacturer’s boxMay increase chargeable volume

Why this page does not publish a permanent Europe price table

Freight products, fuel adjustments, destination coverage, customs arrangements and surcharges can change. A rate copied from an old article may no longer apply to the same postcode or goods category. The reliable sequence is:

  1. Wait for the selected goods to be packed and measured.
  2. Enter the exact European destination and postcode.
  3. Declare the goods category accurately.
  4. Compare the live eligible air, road or sea options.
  5. Confirm the route terms and final warehouse measurement before payment.

For European air services, an 8–15 day transit range may be shown for eligible routes, but it remains an estimate rather than a delivery guarantee. Road and sea availability and timing should be checked live.

DDP, taxes and insurance are separate checks

DDP is route-specific. Only treat a shipment as duties-and-taxes included when the selected live route explicitly says so. If it does not, the recipient may have customs, tax or clearance responsibilities at destination. No warehouse can guarantee a customs authority’s decision.

Insurance is conditional rather than automatic full compensation. Available protection depends on the route, cargo, declared value, purchase timing, evidence and exclusions. Paid declared-value protection may be available up to the stated limit when purchased before shipment. Review the current policy and retain purchase records, inspection evidence and packing records.

Goods that must be classified before consolidation

General goods and sensitive goods may not share the same eligible route. Some accurately declared products with built-in batteries may require a special route. Power banks, loose batteries, outdoor power stations, alcohol-based perfume, e-cigarettes, fresh or live goods, counterfeit goods and other prohibited items must not be placed in an ordinary international parcel.

Do not hide, rename or misdeclare contents to obtain a cheaper route. A route shown before inspection may be removed when the actual goods do not meet its rules.

Pre-payment consolidation checklist

  • Oldest warehouse arrival date and remaining storage time checked
  • Items selected for shipment match the order list
  • Packaging removal and protective packing instructions confirmed
  • Final actual weight and carton dimensions recorded
  • Goods category and declaration are accurate
  • Destination postcode and remote-area conditions checked
  • DDP or non-DDP status confirmed from the selected route
  • Insurance scope, value limit and exclusions reviewed

Calculate with the final packed measurements

Use your actual destination, postcode, goods type, weight and dimensions. The calculator shows current options; the warehouse’s final outbound measurement controls the payable charge.

Frequently asked questions

Does YANCHAO provide 180 days of warehouse storage?

Eligible goods can be stored for up to 180 days. Track each item’s warehouse arrival date and arrange shipment, return or other permitted handling before the applicable limit.

Is consolidation always free?

Do not assume every warehouse action is free. Basic consolidation may be included in the service flow, while special inspection, materials, reinforcement, returns or other optional work may have separate conditions. Check the current order interface before requesting the service.

Can I know the final freight cost before packing?

You can obtain an estimate, but the payable charge depends on the final packed weight, dimensions, goods classification, destination and eligible route.

Should I wait until the full 180 days before shipping?

No. Leave enough time for packing, measurement, route selection and payment. Earlier items may expire before later items because storage age is recorded per arrival.
