YANCHAO DDP Shipping Explained: Duties, Customs and Delivery Responsibilities

DDP, or Delivered Duty Paid, generally places most transportation, export, import-clearance and duty responsibilities on the sending side until the goods reach an agreed destination. For an international shopper consolidating parcels in China, a DDP-style route can reduce the customs work required from the recipient and make the expected landed cost easier to estimate.

It does not mean that every route is tax-inclusive, every product is accepted, or customs will never inspect a parcel. The exact YANCHAO service scope depends on the destination, route, cargo category and route description shown when an order is submitted.

DDP and “double-clearance tax-inclusive” shipping

DDP is a formal Incoterm used to allocate responsibilities between a seller and buyer. “Double-clearance tax-inclusive” is a logistics-service description commonly used for routes that handle export and import clearance and include ordinary import taxes under stated conditions.

Personal parcel forwarding does not always involve a conventional seller-buyer transaction. Instead of relying on the route label alone, check four questions:

1. Is import customs clearance included?

2. Are ordinary duties and taxes handled by the route?

3. Is final-mile delivery included?

4. Which remote-area, oversized, address-change or redelivery charges are excluded?

How YANCHAO applies the concept

YANCHAO provides warehouse receiving, inspection, parcel consolidation, packing, international transport and final delivery services. Many primary routes use a double-clearance, tax-inclusive model for compliant declarations. This should not be described as tax-inclusive across every route.

A notable exception is the US DHL general-cargo route, which does not include customs clearance or import taxes. Customers shipping to the United States should distinguish this option from other double-clearance routes.

Cargo eligibility still applies

Ordinary cargo may include unbranded clothing, bedding, books, toys and household items. Food, cosmetics, liquids, medicines and products with built-in batteries may require a sensitive-cargo route and can still face inspection, detention or confiscation.

Power banks, outdoor power stations, batteries, alcohol, cigarettes and e-cigarettes, counterfeit products, luxury goods, and storage devices such as computers and mobile phones are not accepted under YANCHAO’s current cargo rules. Choosing DDP does not override transport or customs restrictions.

DDP is not an inspection exemption

Customs authorities retain the right to inspect any shipment. Item names, quantities and values must be declared truthfully. DDP must not be treated as a way to avoid taxes, under-declare value or conceal restricted goods.

Check the chargeable weight

International shipping commonly charges the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight. YANCHAO removes unnecessary domestic packaging and reduces volume where practical during consolidation. Final charges are based on the packed shipment measurements and the live order-page quotation.

The YANCHAOBUY process

1. Create an account and obtain a warehouse address with your unique customer ID.

2. Send purchases or personal parcels to the warehouse.

3. Wait for inspection, photos and inbound registration.

4. Consolidate parcels and choose an eligible route based on destination and cargo type.

5. Confirm packing, chargeable weight and payment.

6. Track the shipment through final delivery.

Frequently asked questions

Does DDP guarantee no extra charges?

No. Ordinary clearance and tax costs may be handled by the selected route, while remote-area, oversized, address-correction, storage or redelivery fees may still apply.

Does DDP mean customs will not inspect my parcel?

No. DDP allocates cost and operational responsibilities; it does not remove customs supervision.

Are all YANCHAO US routes duty paid?

No. The US DHL general-cargo route does not include customs clearance or duties. Always review the individual route description before payment.

The safest way to choose a DDP-style service is to confirm the destination, full item list, declared value, packed dimensions and exclusions. Current availability and final pricing should always follow the live YANCHAOBUY order page and support confirmation.
