Parcel Forwarding from China to Spain: Routes, Customs and Delivery

Which route should you compare?

These are transport estimates, not complete seller-to-door times. Domestic seller dispatch, warehouse intake, packing and customs inspection are separate.

How parcel forwarding works

1. Get the assigned warehouse address

Create a YANCHAO account and use the China warehouse address and customer ID for Taobao, 1688, JD and other sellers.

2. Screen the product before buying

Provide the product link, exact name, material or ingredients, quantity, value and any liquid, powder, battery or brand information. A route accepting an item does not mean Spanish Customs will admit it.

3. Review warehouse arrivals

Confirm the recorded item and quantity. Intake photographs help catch obvious seller mistakes but do not provide authentication or regulatory approval.

4. Consolidate compatible goods

Remove redundant outer packaging where safe, combine compatible orders and protect fragile goods. Some items need separation or a different route.

5. Compare routes after packing

Use final actual weight and dimensions. The route normally bills the greater of actual and volumetric weight, subject to minimums and rounding.

6. Declare accurately and dispatch

Use exact product names, quantities and genuine purchase values. Keep invoices, order pages and payment records.

How is chargeable weight calculated?

Volumetric weight = length × width × height ÷ divisor

Most referenced Europe routes use divisor 6000. One reduced-volumetric air route uses 12000 for eligible cargo. A 60 × 45 × 40 cm carton gives 18 kg at divisor 6000 and 9 kg at divisor 12000. Compare the full eligible quotes, not the divisor alone.

Spanish import charges

Spain's Tax Agency states that online purchases sent from outside the EU are subject to VAT. Since 1 July 2026, qualifying online purchases with a value up to EUR 150 are also subject to a fixed EUR 3 customs duty per category of goods, regardless of the VAT collection method.

Who collects the amount depends on the sale and route terms. The platform may collect it at checkout, or the carrier may require payment before delivery. The referenced YANCHAO Europe truck routes use DDP; other routes must be checked individually.

DDP does not prevent inspection, legalise restricted goods or automatically include every remote-area, address-correction, storage or return charge.

Goods that need review

Food, cosmetics, liquids, powders, medicine, built-in-battery products and branded goods need product-level review. YANCHAO does not accept items including power banks, standalone batteries, alcohol, alcohol-based perfume, fresh food, tobacco, e-cigarettes, counterfeit goods and live plants or animals.

Meat, milk and their products are generally prohibited from entering the EU from non-EU countries, subject to limited exceptions. A food route is not customs permission.

Mainland Spain, islands and special territories

Do not assume one mainland quote covers every Spanish territory. The Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla can have different routing, tax or customs treatment. Provide the exact five-digit postcode before requesting a price.

• Choosing a route before product screening.
• Comparing different customs terms as if they were identical.
• Using seller weight rather than final packed chargeable weight.
• Treating all Spanish territories as mainland Spain.
• Omitting number, block, portal, staircase, floor or door information.
• Providing a phone number that cannot receive delivery messages.
• Using a vague declaration such as “personal items.”
