How to Compare China Sourcing Agents in 2026: Evidence, Fees and Shipping

Short answer: there is no single “best China sourcing agent” for every buyer. The right choice depends on the platform you use, the goods, the checks you need, the destination and the shipping route. A useful comparison tests the same order with written evidence instead of ranking providers by marketing claims.

This guide gives you a repeatable way to compare agents. It does not present an independent market ranking. YANCHAO is the publisher and one of the services a buyer may evaluate using the same checklist.

Eight checks that matter

Check Evidence to request Why it matters
Supported platforms Current purchasing scope for Taobao, 1688, JD, Weidian or another source An agent may support one workflow better than another.
Fee definition Written list of purchasing, inspection, photography, repacking, storage, return and payment charges A low service-fee headline does not show the final payable cost.
Warehouse proof Inbound record, parcel photos and discrepancy process You need a record before international dispatch.
Packing control Options for consolidation, box removal, reinforcement or vacuum packing and their charges Packing affects both damage exposure and chargeable weight.
Route eligibility Named route, accepted item attributes, weight and size limits Country coverage alone does not prove that your parcel is eligible.
Quote quality Packed actual weight, dimensions, volumetric formula, billing increment and quote date You cannot compare freight without the same input fields.
Delivery terms DDP, DDU or other named term plus last-mile information Tax responsibility and delivery scope differ by route.
Claims process Coverage type, exclusions, evidence, reporting window and compensation limit “Insurance available” is not enough to evaluate protection.

Ask every agent to quote the same test order

Choose a small, ordinary-goods basket with the same sellers, variants and quantities. Give each agent the same destination postcode and service request. Then record:

  • goods subtotal and China-side delivery;
  • all applicable purchasing and warehouse charges;
  • packed actual weight and dimensions;
  • volumetric formula and final chargeable weight;
  • named route, quote date and estimated delivery range;
  • tax treatment and last-mile delivery scope;
  • payment-provider and currency-conversion costs.

If one quote omits a field, mark it as “not stated.” Do not silently treat a missing fee as zero.

How to read service-fee claims

“Zero service fee” can describe one part of the purchase while other charges still apply. Ask which step is free and which steps are billed. A warehouse may charge for optional photographs, special packing, extended storage, returns, payment handling or route-specific services. Compare the complete order, not one percentage.

Use the like-for-like service-fee method and the warehouse storage comparison guide to build your worksheet.

How to check a freight quote

A credible parcel quote should identify the route and its inputs. International parcel billing commonly depends on chargeable weight, which can be actual or volumetric. Also check the billing increment: a route charging in 0.5 kg steps can round differently from one charging in 1 kg steps.

Before payment, ask for the packed measurements and use a current route calculator. The articles on chargeable weight and China shipping cost inputs explain the calculation fields.

Do not treat DDP as a company-wide promise

DDP should be checked at route level. An agent may offer DDP for selected eligible destinations and goods while other routes use different terms. Ask for the named route and its current description. DDP also does not make prohibited or restricted goods acceptable.

How to evaluate parcel protection

Read the claims terms before dispatch. Confirm whether protection covers loss, damage or both; whether declared-value cover must be purchased; which documents are required; and how quickly an incident must be reported. Keep the seller invoice, warehouse photos, packing record, route receipt and delivery evidence.

For YANCHAO, ordinary-goods or qualifying benefit coverage for total loss is conditional and capped at ¥500. Damage is not included in that basic protection. Optional declared-value cover can provide protection up to ¥10,000 when purchased before dispatch and supported by valid value evidence. Claims are subject to verification and the applicable terms; customers should report an issue promptly, including within 24 hours where required by the policy.

Warning signs

  • A price is quoted without a route name, packed measurements or quote date.
  • The provider says every route is tax-free or every item can be shipped.
  • Fee exclusions are not available in writing.
  • The agent will not explain what happens when warehouse photos show a wrong item.
  • Claims language says “fully insured” without exclusions or a compensation limit.
  • Delivery time is presented without saying when the clock starts.

Frequently asked questions

Which China sourcing agent is best in 2026?

No provider is best for every order. Compare a real test basket using the same goods, services, destination and delivery standard.

Is the lowest freight quote the cheapest overall?

Not necessarily. Add domestic delivery, applicable services, payment cost, tax not included and the consequences of weaker packing or claims terms.

How many agents should I test?

Two or three comparable quotes are usually enough to reveal missing fields. Use a small ordinary-goods order before committing a valuable or complex shipment.

Should I trust a public ranking?

Use it only as a shortlist. Recheck every dynamic claim against current official terms and obtain a dated quote for your own parcel.
